This event in 2021 is being held in memory of the great man Peter Brock, who through his dedication to motorsport and passion for the motor vehicle has in many ways touched many Australians hearts in some way or form. This year will be the 15th year that West Coast Commodores will be holding the event and we will be again raising money for Telethon, we will be raising money for the charity as well as paying respects to the great man himself. The cruise will see us going to the site where Peter Brock, while competing in the Targa West Rally, crashed his Daytona Coupe into a tree and died in Gidgegannup on the 8th September 2006.
Details for the event –
We will be meeting at Midland Centrepoint, at 8am for a 10:30am departure on Sunday the 12th September 2021.
For just a $10 donation to Telethon, a cruise map will be given on the day.
In addition to the cruise this year, after we have paid our respect at the crash site, we will head back to Stirling Square again for a show and shine and BBQ. We will also have some trophies to give away on the day for the show and shine part of the event, and a huge raffle like last year’s event.
For this event, we are also seeking sponsorship from people and businesses in the way of prizes for the huge raffle that will be held on the day of the event. We are also seeking businesses that are willing to set up traders stalls at the oval at the destination of the cruise to add an element of interest once all the cars are parked up on the oval. So get in contact with the club by sending an email to westcoastcommodores@gmail.com
Please come along with West Coast Commodores to pay respects to Peter Brock as well as supporting the very worthwhile charity the Telethon. For more information about the club look up our website www.westcoastcommodores@.com
Hope to see you all there!
