Held from the 7th to 9th of October 1961 at Mallala Motorsport Park, the 1961 Australian Grand Prix turns 60 years later this year!

Won by Lex Davison, the event was the 26th Australian Grand Prix and last one to be hosted in South Australia until Victoria Park hosted the Formula One Grand Prix in 1985.

It was Lex Davison's fourth and final Australian Grand Prix victory - a record that remains unbroken today. Only Michael Schumacher has equaled it.

To celebrate the historic event, the SCCSA hosts this tribute event, hopefully attracting some of the cars and drivers from the original.
