You no doubt know when to celebrate your birthday. However the exact date that the MG marque came into being has proved rather harder to pin down, however. So much so that, though its 50th anniversary was celebrated in 1975, it is now felt appropriate to commemorate its 100th jubilee this year, 48 rather than 50 years later. That’s because only recently, the first recorded sale and the birth of Cecil Kimber’s first venture of starting out selling modified Morris’s was found to be to Oliver Arkell of the Arkell brewing dynasty in August 1923. So in line with major centennial celebration at the British Motor Museum UK, on the 27th of May we are going to celebrate Drive your MG Day. The Saturday 27th of May coincides with our regular Cars and Coffee Beenleigh. So, let’s make this a good reason (even though we don’t need much encouragement) to get in, get out and enjoy your MG by joining us for a coffee. Then at 11:00 afterwards a run down Jacobs Well area to The Anchorage Cafe, 80 Cabbage Tree Point Rd, Steiglitz QLD. Here you can grab a lunch or just fill up on more Caffeine, or just hang out and enjoy and relax.

Form Kiwanda Cafe turn right and head south on Henery Hester Dr

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit Follow Stapylton Jacobs Well Rd

Veer left and follow the sign to Cabbage Tree Point / Horizon Shores

Then turn right into Horizon Shores and follow the road and the Cafe is on your left (Blue Building)
