LAP WARS: Where the best track street cars battle it out for the fastest lap of the SMSP GP circuit.

NOTE: This is not a beginner or first timers event.

NO drifting will be allowed.

Competitors will be divided into 4 groups –

1) TRACK CAR: Advanced

2) TRACK CAR: Intermediate

3) STREET CAR: Advanced

4) STREET CAR: Intermediate

Or a combination of these to make 3 or 4 groups pending the number of drivers/ cars entered.

There will be trophies awarded for the fastest lap from – – Rear wheel drive track car – Front wheel drive track car – 4 wheel or all wheel drive track car – Rear wheel drive street car – Front wheel drive street car – 4 wheel or all wheel drive street car Prize packs will also be provided for the overall fastest.

Event Times. Start 630pm – 1030pm Finish

Event Format –

a) Cars will be divided into groups based on previous lap times recorded at this or another circuit in the same vehicle. Times from another circuit may be used if they have no times recorded for this circuit. b)Cars will be released singularly from the north or south pit lane. The maximum number of cars will be 16 in any group

c)Each run will comprise a minimum time to allow all competitors to complete at least 5 laps, with the time of the fastest single lap being used for results. The minimum time for each run will be 13 minutes.

d) Proposed minimum number of runs on the Night will be 4

Entries.

a) Maximum number of Driver entries for the Event 56.

b) Maximum number of Drivers per entry is 1.

c) Electronic Timing Transponder hire fee will be included with the entry fee. If using a compatible personal unit already installed in the car, the ID of the unit must be advised on the entry form and the driver sign in with the chief timekeeper to confirm the unit ID.

d) For a vehicle to be eligible to enter it must be based on a production vehicle. EV vehicles are not eligible for this event. If you do have an EV and would like to enter please email us and we will look at a class for EVs for future events.

e) Modifications to vehicles are free as long as the vehicle meets or passes scrutiny requirements.

f) Entries will be accepted in order of receipt, accompanied by the appropriate entry fee.

g) Entries from Drivers between 16 and 18 years of age must be countersigned/consented by a parent or legal guardian on the entry form.

h) The Organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason.

An email confirming acceptance of entry will be sent (only for entries received more than 7 days before the event).

i) If a competitor advises the event secretary that he/she is unable to attend the event, the following procedure regarding a refund applies More than 7 days prior to the event – full entry fee less an administration fee of $50.

j) Any vehicle entered and scrutineered will for the purpose of the entry fee be deemed to have competed.

k) Entry cost will be $360.

l) Opening date, Entries will open on the 26th of May

e) Closing date – 27th June 2023 or when entry spots are full.

f) Entries will be accepted in order of receipt, accompanied by the appropriate entry fee.

g) Bank Transfers being the primary method of payment. Or cash on the day

h) This is a Racers event. Day licence 30 yearly licence 75 if you do not have one already
