Mount Gladstone Hill Climb weekend (NSW)

Weekend caters for junior drivers, 'come and try' drivers, classic cars and ‘regular’ hill climb drivers & cars.

Mount Gladstone Road will be closed for a full weekend of hill climb events for a wide range of drivers including juniors (14-17 years), ‘come and try’ participants. Cars can range from 1950s-1960s Classics to 'up-to-the-minute' purpose prepared AWD and Sports Sedans.

SATURDAY 23 NOVEMBER
Scrutineering will be at 9am at Mt Gladstone; the weekend will then start-up with 'Come and Try’ timed but not recorded runs for drivers who would like to ‘have a go’ in controlled conditions (with an instructor if required).

(The 'Come and Try' hill climb will enable the participants to develop their skills, by experiencing car control in a safe controlled environment with an instructor in the car until they feel confident enough to have a solo run.)

SPECIAL PRICE DEALS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR JUNIOR DRIVERS who will get entry to the hill climb, use of a club car, a CAMS Level 2S licence which lasts 12 months, and Cooma Car Club membership up to 30 June 2020.

'Come and Try' and Classics drivers can purchase a single event CAMS Level 2S licence ($85) on Saturday that can be used also on Sunday.

In the afternoon, the meet will take on an historical feel with a Classic Cars (1989 or older) cars.

SUNDAY 24 NOVEMBER
Day 2 will be a regular hill climb. The event will be open to vehicles ranging from road registerable Type 1-2 2WD production vehicles up to Type 3 AWD vehicles, also Type 4 production based 2WD vehicles (sports sedans). On the day, there will be a minimum of 4 x 1 km runs for each competitor. The hill climb will be conducted under CAMS rules and regulations, and competitors must hold a CAMS Level 2 Speed Event Licence.

Date: Saturday-Sunday 23-24 November 2019
Times: The hill climbs will run from 9:30 AM to around 4 PM on both days. A courtesy shuttle bus will run all day both days catering for spectators to go up and back to the main spectator area.’
