****** NABIAC AUTOMOTIVE SWAP MEET. Sadly and very reluctantly we have no choice but to postpone the forthcoming swap meet. I had a look about 7 days ago and the ground was very wet and had me hoping that with clear weather it MIGHT have dried out by the 30-31st July. Nabiac had heavy rain on Wednesday and with Brian Kelleher, proprietor of the museum we again inspected it late this afternoon. In some places where there were dips in the ground there were paddles of water 3 inches deep. The sites down behind the houses were even worse. Commencing this coming Monday through to the Thursday leading up to the swap there is predictions of further rain with a minimum amount predicted is 30 mm and a maximum of 70mm over that period of time. If we had still stuck with the idea of having this event at the end of this month we would have attracted severe criticism with people getting bogged and needing to be towed out. At this stage we intend to conduct this event with Traders in on Saturday the 24th September at 12 noon and buyers at 7.00am Sunday the 25th September. Remember LAST SUNDAY IN SEPTEMBER. I will again post updates to remind everyone as we progress towards that date.
