PHAT LAPS (Qld)

Starts: Saturday, 21 October 2023, 6:00 pm Ends: Saturday, 21 October 2023, 9:00 pm

Saturday October 21 - PHAT LAPS – Ruthven Street (James Street to Chalk Drive) and Margaret Street (Hume Street to Clifford Street) Toowoomba, from 6.00pm. All cars, all bikes, all clubs, all club rego cars welcome. Free entry for cars, bikes and spectators.

Saturday Night PHAT LAPS - Some people say that the city centre of Toowoomba is fairly dead these days. Well, if ever there was a spooky night where the city centre will be resurrected again, PHAT LAPS will be that night.

So the plan is to load up the car with family / friends and cruise down to the Toowoomba city centre to cut some Phat Laps, provide some free entertainment for the community and pump some blood in to our local economy.

Phat Laps will not be just another car event. At Phat Laps you have unique opportunities to either join a monster street cruise, find a prime park on the lap / the Station Street Car Park, or enjoy a feed in a city centre food outlet whilst we bring the show to you with some of the Toowoomba regions finest cars cruising past. Seeing and hearing cars on the move is a lot more entertaining than just a static display.

With a lot more general public out on a Saturday night, parking down town can be a challenge. Centre / side parking on Ruthven or Margaret Street is usually full. So we will be organising Reverence Car Meet in the Station Street Car Park near McDonalds on Margaret Street so that you have the option of cutting PHAT LAPS or pulling up for a while at the car meet. This will also give the spectators / Phat Lappers an opportunity to see the cars up close or stand on the footpaths on Margaret Street near Grand Central to enjoy the cars cruising past in a quieter section of down town Toowoomba.

So if you are looking for some car scene entertainment, cruise down to PHAT LAPS on Saturday October 21 and see the Toowoomba city centre thriving like the old days.
