The TD2000 is a replica tribute car modelled after the 1950s MG-TD.
The rights to build a replica MG-TD and the original tooling was purchased by a Mercedes and Jaguar dealer in NSW ( Ross Marshall ).
The car was fully engineered and built in Australia for the first 100 cars and then the manufacturing factory was transferred to Malaysia where over 350 cars were assembled and exported to around 8 countries.
The TD2000 was not a kit car but was fully factory hand built and sold as a new car with a new car warranty.
Before the first cars were offered to the public in 1988 they had to meet the all the strict Aust, Design Rules and pass front and side crash tests.
