Dave’s Dodge Dart!

Posted 3 years ago by Plymouth Dale Photos

Recently I had the pleasure of shooting some pics of a tough Dodge owned by Dave at KustomKraft in Bayswater.

I met Dave awhile ago after shooting his car in its previous incarnation (see the pics below..) at one of the many car shows we have both been to.

BTW, the first KustonKraft car show he organised this year was huge so I’m looking forward to the next one which I’ll cover here.

Needless to say, the current look Dave has gone with for his Dart is bound to make an impression. And it’s a great promotional vehicle for his business KustomKraft. Signage, stickers, banners, decals, wallpaper, large scale printing. Dave can do it!

He was kind enough to answer a few of my questions about the car.

Cheers,

Plymouth Dale

◾️Name of owner: Dave Greene

◾️Car make and model: 1970 Dodge Dart

◾️When did you get the car/how long have you had it?

I bought it from a guy in Sydney that imported it 6 yrs ago. It has lived its life in Santa Ana California.

◾️Why do you love your car?

I like to build my cars the way I like. Not the way that others think I should build it. The recent vinyl wrap was done to promote KustomKraft. My wife Jeanne and I started the business just over 12 months ago after I lost my job of 10yrs (COVID)

◾️Does the car have a name and why? No

◾️What restoration/modifications have been performed on the car?

Was a slant 6 with hessian and black interior. It’s now a 318 stroked to 392 cubes. 904 Torqueflite. Shortened 9” to accommodate the 325 rear tyres.

◾️How often do you drive your car?

As often as possible. The last 12 months have been tough with restrictions and working 7 days a week to get a small business off the ground. Car shows are my favourite where we get together with like minded people.

◾️Have you always been into cars, and if so what other cars have you had?

I fell in love with hot cars and customs when I went to the Melbourne hot rod show in 1975. I’ve had a bunch of cars over the years. All modified in one way or another. Never had a favourite. The Dart will be sold one day. Next car will be a 33 Ford roadster.

◾️What was your first car?

My grandfather ordered his HR premier from Holden as a run out model. From the factory it had 186s. X2 gauges. Opel 4 speed. I bought it from my mum when my grandad died. I then put 13x7 Dragways. TA radials. Twin system with tips behind the back wheels. Centre roof aerial. Every conceivable chrome accessory from the Speco catalogue. And the obligatory SAAS steering wheel.

I also asked Dave to share about what he does, and can do.

“KustomKraft digital print studio is a place that allows you to use your imagination. We kreate Kool shit. From kustom textured wallpapers for office or home. Man cave signs, banners and decals. Workplace and casual clothing logo’d with corporate, business or fun printing.

The first annual KustomKraft car show was a screaming success with a lot of pressure to do another one before years end!”
