Marysville Rockabilly Blowout 5/3/22

Yesterday I made the picturesque trip from Yea to Marysville. I hadn’t been there since just after the Black Saturday fires so it was great to see how this beautiful place had regenerated. 

The reason for my trip was the Marysville Rockabilly Blowout which was organized by Terry (aka Flash) who fronts a classic rockabilly radio show on local station UGFM. I’ve met Flash a few times at various events so it was great to support him at this one. 

Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so numbers were most definitely less than expected which was a shame. 

Live tunes were provided by the sensational Kid James Trio. Live music really adds to the atmosphere and there was plenty of rock n roll dancing going on while they were playing. Hoping to catch this band again sometime! 

The Rockabilly Blowout will likely return to Marysville in 2023 so let’s hope numbers are bigger and this can grow to its full potential.
