There once was a time when people thought the quirky little cars being produced by post war Japan were a bit of a novelty.
A time in Australia where Holden and Ford ruled The roads. And there were thousands of cars here with European and American heritage that were held in high esteem.
Toyota certainly didn’t seem like a world beater at that time to most people.
Obviously times change and Toyota has gone on to become the world’s largest auto manufacturer.
The sheer variety of vehicles offered over the years means they have had vehicles to cover almost every vehicle need in almost every country.
I’ve owned a few and my daily driver is a Toyota Rukus. Here’s a gallery of some of Toyota’s favorites from the past that all have huge enthusiast following these days. They used to be everywhere, but to see some of these classics nowadays is a treat.
