DeSoto!!

There’s no denying the fact that I love MoPar. Especially the big finned Forward Look MoPar’s from the late 50s.

One of the classiest and most outrageous vehicles from this era was the DeSoto.

DeSoto was born in 1928, with the first models arriving in 1929 and ceased production with the 1961 models. A relatively short run in production still managed to produce some of the most interesting and beautiful cars ever built.

Advanced styling was evident on the 1934 Airflow models. And the toothy grille that DeSoto wore for many years in the 1940s-50s was a popular kustom favorite.

And the final flourish of the Forward Look put a spectacular full stop on a manufacturer that may have survived if the 1958 recession didn’t hit US manufacturers so hard.

Here’s a sample of some classic DeSoto’s I’ve photographed over the last few years.
