When I was a kid, my great Aunt owned a classic Dodge. The black and white, big fin 58 Custom Royal you see in these pics. It’s now owned by my friend Shannon, so I still get to see it every now and then.
Anyway, this car has always meant that I’ve had a love for classic Dodges.
Founded in the early 1900s by Horace and John Dodge, the Dodge Brothers company began building automobiles in 1914. Both brothers died in 1920, but their auto building legacy lived on after being purchased by the mighty Chrysler Corporation in 1928.
Dodge has ridden the highs and lows of auto manufacturing but still continue to build cars to this day when so many of their contemporaries have fallen by the wayside.
Here’s a small snapshot of some classic Dodges I’ve seen around the shows over the last few years.
