I’ve seen Richard’s beautiful XT many times at shows and it’s one car that brings back some great childhood memories for me. One of our family cars when I was a kid was a white XT with a burgundy interior. I think of our old Falcon every time I see Richard’s car.

◾️When did you get the car/how long have you had it? 

Bought the car from Melton 8 years ago.

◾️Why do you love your car?

l love XR’s and XT’s. I tried to build an XR when I was 16 but didn’t get it on the road before my licence. I ended up wrecking it. From then on, I always said one day I will finish what I started.

◾️Does the car have a name and why?

The car was supposed to be Bertha the beast like my XR, but I call her just XT.

◾️What restoration/modifications have been performed on the car? 

The engine has been modified - small cam, Holley 600, stainless steel exhaust, headers, GT steering wheel. Interior is original, black dash and crash pad re-done.

I hated the vinyl roof originally, but now it has grown on me. Reg the original owner has tried to buy it back at least 4 or 5 times! The colour and vinyl roof combo with black trim is rare.

◾️How often do you drive your car? 

I try to drive it at least once a week.

◾️Have you always been into cars, and if so, what other cars have you had? 

I’ve always been into cars. My first car was the XR, then XA Fairmont, HX GTS, XW GT Falcon, XC GS, work Utes WB XF and VU Holden.

◾️What was your first car? 

XR Falcon.
