Trafalgar Holden Museum

Posted 3 years ago by Plymouth Dale Photos

I do some volunteer work for the fantastic Trafalgar Holden Museum and last week had the pleasure of shooting a few photos after they reopened post Covid lockdowns.

It’s fair to say things have changed a lot since the last time I was there.

New displays, major building works, more exhibits.

This museum is really much more than just a few buildings with a few old Holdens inside. Their goal is to tell the complete Holden story from their 19th century beginnings in saddlery, right up to the present day.

And you will see much more than just Holden cars there too. Sure there’s plenty of beautiful original and restored Holden’s on display, but you will also see many models built before “Australia’s Own Car” debuted in 1948.

Oldsmobile. Buick. Chevrolet. Vauxhall. Even Ford! (With Holden built body). As well as the cars there’s also a Holden built W class tram under restoration. And a WW2 boat, also Holden built. Add in a room full of Peter Brock racing vehicles and memorabilia and a gift shop, you won’t go home disappointed.

Open 10-5, seven days a week.
